Time Banks and Organizations: How Nonprofits and Companies Can Benefit from Partnerships

Please join CoThrive Time Bank in welcoming Linda Hogan of hOurworld cooperative on Thursday, May 19th at 6pm. Linda is a Social Architect, Storyteller and 20 year, founding member, of Hour Exchange Portland in Maine. She will be leading a two day Immersion Training for CoThrive's Leadership Circle to help us launch creatively, efficiently and in full legal integrity. As a member, Linda exchanges her services for health care, housing, meals, entertainment and much more, which she describes as her authentic social security.

hOurworld has 40,000 members in 22 countries. Its software tool, Time & Talents, is gifted free of charge to all grassroots service exchanges including CoThrive. The Immersion Training is a dynamic event based on the wealth of history, experiences and creative designs of its members, past and present.

As we eat together on Thursday evening, Linda will share the extensive menu of benefits for individuals, businesses and non-profit organizations who become members and users of community currency. Topics will include the history of the movement and how it relates to the economics of today, plus models of social enterprise development and community cooperatives that use time as a currency.

Bring something to share, which might be a food item or might be yourself. Plan on an evening of great food and wonderful storytelling!

There is no charge to attend, but voluntary donations given with RSVP are gratefully accepted and will help offset the cost of the training. Must RSVP to attend as space is limited. Thanks!
