CoThrive Launches Time Bank Effort

CoThrive launched nearly a year ago, in early 2015, with the mission of creating an intentional online community that fostered continuous learning and members supporting one another. I think we have succeeded very well on both of those counts. One element that has remained on the back burner (until now) is incorporating a time banking system into our community.

Besides the value members derive from attending weekly, interactive sessions, I want to make it easier for members to reach out to one another directly. I think a time bank is the way to do it and have begun the plans for the launch already. Now, your help is needed to make it a reality...

What you can do to support the effort:

  • Sign up! Anyone is welcome to join, however, initially we will be focusing on gaining a critical mass in and around Valparaiso, Indiana to facilitate time trades that require geographic proximity..
  • Volunteer to partner. At the onset, even more than time bank members, we need fellow organizers. Especially critical are people who are good at: networking, book keeping, organizing events, marketing, non profit management, grant writing, etc. If that's you, please contact me to let me know you're interested.
  • Contribute to the crowdfunding campaign. We need to raise $1200 by February 18, 2016 to move the project forward. Donations in any amount of $5 or more will help us get there.
  • Watch and share this video.

  • Attend an event (for those local to Northwest Indiana). Check back soon for more updates. The next scheduled event is:

Though it will focus primarily on Valparaiso and Northwest Indiana at first, our aim is to include people outside that area who can trade skills that don't rely on geographic proximity. Existing CoThrive members include graphic designers, web developers, editors, writers, virtual assistants, business and life coaches, etc. all of whom manage to conduct their businesses across the miles, so trading skills from a distance is obviously possible.

Check back for updates!
